Road transport is extensively used worldwide for the transportation of people and many kinds of goods. However, this mode of transportation is prone to accidents and faces several continuous problems, such as the frequent loss of life and property in the case of an accident. To successfully tackle these issues, it is advisable to implement a self-regulating event detection system that makes use of wireless communication, 5G technologies, and the Internet of Things. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technological advancement that raises the level of connection between machines and people. The online system improves communication between cars and infrastructures, transmits data, and forecasts event happenings using networks such as eCall, OneM2M, and mobile internet access. The advancement of 5G technology is occurring fast in conjunction with the development of Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and intelligent platforms for essential communications. 5G technology is the most recent iteration of technology that operates on the Ultra High Spectrum Band (UHSB). This design employs a communication system that connects pedestrians, vehicles, roads, and cloud infrastructure to provide reliable and efficient transmission of vehicle locations and temperatures. Intelligent transportation systems depend on the sharing of information and the ability to forecast incidents in order to prioritize safety. This study focuses on the detection of accidents utilizing 5G networks, integrated mobile broadband, and MIMO wireless systems. Lastly, we will address modern technology, challenges, and ongoing and potential research opportunities.
