In this paper, we present a new method for achieving reliable data transmission over the protocol UDP by utilizing Reed-Solomon codes as recurrent sequences. The inherent lack of guaranteed delivery in UDP can lead to data loss and hinder service quality, particularly for media data transmission. We propose a scheme where information blocks are encoded using RS codes and arranged into a recurrent sequence. This approach facilitates error correction at the receiver and streamlines loss detection. The theoretical foundation and implementation details of the proposed solution are covered in this article. We introduce a high-level model optimized for data exchange functionality and provide an overview of the software implementation. The software offers simulation capabilities for data transmission between multiple senders and receivers, along with verification of the RS coder’s accuracy. This method merges the advantages of RS codes with the TCP/IP protocol stack, potentially resulting in a more efficient and reliable alternative for UDP-based data transmission.
