An Implementation of Low-latency and High-reliability Mobile Edge Computing System

초록

Mobile edge computing (MEC) generally enables lower communication delays services than mobile cloud computing, due to its close to mobile users. Compared to vehicular onboard processing, MEC provides more abundant sensing and computing resources. In this paper, we verify the efficiency and performance by real experiments on a MEC system to provide low-latency and high-reliability services for mobile users. We firstly describe the architecture of the system. Then, we conduct field tests to evaluate the system performance in static and dynamic mobile environments. The results show that this system is with low latency and high reliability to run some non-mission-critical but computation-intensive tasks.
