As artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly changes the face of the legal industry through improving capabilities in document analysis, predictive analytics as well as decision support, it becomes the need of the hour now more than ever to address data protection challenges seriously. Legal services involve the processing of very sensitive information from the client, thus integrating AI in this sphere raises tremendous issues of privacy, ethics and compliance with regulations. This study addresses the core problem of how to balance individual privacy rights with the growing demand for AI innovation in legal services. The objective is to develop a comprehensive framework that guides the ethical integration of AI while ensuring privacy and regulatory compliance. A qualitative research methodology has been employed, including a systematic literature review, stakeholder interviews and expert consultations. Based on this, the study proposes a three-pillar framework Privacy by Design, AI Ethics and Responsible Innovation to support ethical AI implementation in legal contexts. In conclusion, by putting forth a strategic, ethically guided path, this study adds to the expanding conversation on AI and the law. Moreover, it suggests creating adaptive governance structures as well as privacy-preserving technologies that are specific to the particular sensitivities of the legal industry.
