The official launch of 5G commercial use was announced at the China International Telecommunications Exhibition in 2019. At present, the contiguous coverage of 5G base stations in major cities marks the beginning of China's entry into the era of commercial use of 5G communication services. As a new generation of information and communication technology, 5G's commercial application supports and promotes the realization of digital, real-time, automated and visualized smart logistics. 5G has begun to empower the development of smart logistics. This paper analyzes the characteristics of 5G information technology and explores the application of 5G technology in logistics. At the same time, it also provides a reference for the intelligent development of future logistics.
