The current status of differential protection synchronization methods is analyzed, and the influence of 5G wireless communication, an emerging communication channel type, on the synchronization function of differential protection is discussed. A method of differential protection synchronization for 5G wireless communication based on data channel is presented. The method mainly eliminates the influence of the uncertain time delay of message transmission in the 5G wireless communication process, and constructs a stable and equal communication delay system for differential protection data message receiving and sending channels, so as to use the existing mature data channel-based synchronization method to achieve differential protection data synchronization, and reliably complete the 5G wireless communication-based differential protection data synchronization function.
