A Novel Approach to Mitigate TCP-IP DDoS Attack Robustness

In the context of network security, where TCP-based Distributed-Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks persist as a substantial threat, this study presents a novel approach to enhance network resilience. DDoS threats continue to challenge network availability and security significantly. To combat this issue effectively, an advanced framework is introduced, seamlessly integrating OpenFlow, Snort Intrusion Detection System, and Proxy Servers. This approach harnesses the capabilities of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) provided by OpenFlow, Snort, and Proxy Servers to dynamically reroute and isolate malicious traffic flows, thereby mitigating the impact of DDoS attacks on vital network resources. Through an array of comprehensive simulations and experiments, the efficacy of this strategy in reinforcing network resilience against TCP-based DDoS attacks is substantiated. By amalgamating these cutting-edge technologies, a robust, multi-layered defense system is established, significantly diminishing service disruptions, preserving crucial network assets, and bolstering overall security. This study makes a substantial contribution to the ongoing efforts directed at safeguarding network infrastructures from the pervasive threat of DDoS assaults. Moreover, its implications hold promise for the future of cyber defense, marking a pivotal stride toward strengthening network resilience in the face of evolving and relentless threats.
