Multi-Path Routing in Hybrid Software-Defined Networking

The emergence of new network technologies, such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN), has introduced many features to traditional networks, but SDN also presents its own challenges and limitations. Hybrid SDN combines the strengths of traditional IP networks and SDN, attracting widespread attention. However, as network size increases, traffic balancing becomes critical. Multi-path routing offers different paths for traffic with varying quality of service requirements and can provide multiple routes for the same type of traffic, thereby improving link utilization. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that integrates multi-path routing mechanisms into hybrid SDN to alleviate network congestion. Our approach addresses traffic load balancing and reduces network congestion by optimizing throughput, link utilization, and packet loss rates. The results demonstrate that our mechanism significantly reduces congestion and achieves better load balancing compared to previous approaches.
