Millimeter-wave (mm-Wave) wireless technology has another in become an indispensable element in our everyday existence, facilitating the transmission of data in a rapid and secure manner. The present study details the characteristics and specifications of a resonant microstrip patch antenna that functions at a frequency of 38 GHz and is intended for use in mmWave wireless communication. The antenna is enhanced in performance by the inclusion of square openings in its design. Connected to the radiating patch are an pi-slot and a rectangular-slot constituting the antenna. The proposed antenna underwent development and analysis utilizing CST Microwave Studio, an electromagnetic modeling software. On a Rogers RT5880 substrate with a loss tangent of 0.0009 and a relative permittivity of 2.2, the design was executed. The paper highlights the following characteristics at the resonant frequency of 38 GHz: a minimum return loss of 35.991 dB, a gain of 10.3 dB, and an impedance bandwidth of 14.50%. The proposed antenna is a formidable contender for 5G mmWave cellular communication and is further distinguished by its H-plane radiation pattern, E-plane radiation pattern, and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) demonstrations.
