Demo: Emulation Platform to Build Digital Twins of Edge Computing Environments

A Digital Twin (DT) offers a significant advancement in network analysis, enabling the creation of precise and comprehensive digital representations of network environments at a relatively low cost. This technology leverages its sophisticated capability to precisely emulate the control plane behavior of hypervisors and network systems. This paper presents a demonstration of a hybrid system that seamlessly integrates physical hardware devices with network emulation, thereby increasing flexibility in validating a diverse range of use cases. The demonstration utilizes the containerlab tool for network emulation, facilitating the deployment of an application on an edge server while offloading the application's control logic to a physical client.
