A Lightweight Framework for Retrieve IP Device Status Based on MQTT Protocol

The problem with the network is one of the most daunting IT failures. Network devices must be monitor at all time. To follow up the status of all network devices are necessary for administrator to handle when things go wrong just in time; nevertheless, each network device has support by network protocol differently. Consequently, the information of the network device with different vendor may not be easily to exchanged and obtained. This work proposed a lightweight framework for retrieve the status of IP device located in local network which compatible with all existing IP devices. The proposed framework detects the status of IP device located in internal network using Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) then send the status to the public network through Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol.
