IC design companies confront enormous obstacles in their efforts to prevent adversaries from reverse engineering their products. It is highly probable that the attacker will be able to physically access the chip. Countermeasures against intrusive physical attacks are not feasible from a technical or economic standpoint in most applications. Thus, hardware obfuscation is among the best methods provided to the designer. This paper discusses the security issues that consumer electronics (CE) systems confront, with a focus on the susceptibility of system-on-chip (SoC) Digital Signal Processing (DSP) intellectual property (IP) cores. The suggested method combines functional obfuscation with an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that is voltage-key dependent with structural obfuscation techniques, like loop unrolling followed by partitioning with a fixed key, to hide internal design. The study verifies the efficacy of this dual obfuscation strategy to prevent reverse engineering and protect DSP essential functionality by evaluating the trade-off between performance and resource consumption. This provides pertinent data that can be applied in real-world situations.
